Went and saw "DALE" last night. While he was alive I never was a big fan of racing. I have recently (past two years) become a NASCAR fan. Just now beginning to enjoy racing. It's a great sport if you like napping, you can wake up and never missed much. Just so you are awake on the final lap. That's the ONLY one that REALLY matters. The movie was good, showed Dale at home on his farm and at alot of different tracks. I learnt alot. I also have the book "NASCAR for Dummies. Last year I liked the M&M car (went with the paint job). This year I have my "own" driver, #42 Juan Pablo Montoya. He may be new to NASCAR but not to racing. And believe it or not I have "won" my first bet (dinner at the Melting Pot) thanks to his "older" racing style as a Formula One driver on a road course.
Once you start watching racing it's hard not to want to see MORE of it. Men and women always wanting to be the first across the finish line. Not much a "speed" person, but always a "good" show. Believe it or not in 38years driving I have NEVER gotten a speeding ticket, much less pulled over. Racing, doesn't matter much as what kind it is, it's ALL GOOD now. Would someday like to take in a "live" NASCAR event. But for now will have to settle for the local dirt track in Elma. Last year went to my first live sprint car race at Peris, California. Wish we lived closer. As Gwynn says, "Asphalts for paving, dirt is for racing." Guess he should know as he drives a dump truck.
